LOKANA (Low-Caw-Nuh) is a singer/song writer who was born in Hawaii, and moved to Colorado when she was 4 years old. She is an underground artist in Denver who started writing and recording her own original R&B/POP songs at 15 years old. Two years later, in 2019, Lokana partnered up with the award winning producer, NicoTheOwl. They had an instant connection and they came out with the hit song ‘Ride or Die’ that reached the top 10 Hit Charts in Japan.
While she isn’t writing music or in the studio, she loves acting and modeling. Her most recent project that featured all of these talents, was the 2021 GAP diversity campaign, paying tribute to John Lennon’s song ‘Imagine’. She is featured as on artist on the projects song ‘This Is Me~Rainbow’.
Some of her music inspirations growing up were Lauren Hill, Drake, Alicia Keys, The Fray and Cold Play. Lauren Hill was an inspiration in the style of music that moved her and she also loved how real and raw she was. She paved her own path in the industry and that’s what Lokana admired in her. She wasn’t affraid to be who she was. And that’s what Lokana also strives for in the work she does!
